The girlfriend of footballer Tarryn Thomas has cleared up speculation about her relationship with the young star after the airing of several abuse allegations.

The girlfriend of footballer Tarryn Thomas has defended her partner online, the young mum denying that she is in an abusive relationship following a series of allegations against him.

Thomas’ partner, Tatiana Coppedge, took to social media on Friday morning to defend the young footy star, saying she was “sick of being questioned” about the alleged abuse.

“I’m not going to speak on anything else but I will say no I am not in an abusive relationship,” she wrote in an Instagram post.

The mother of two, who posted a photo of the pair kissing at Triplet Falls while on holiday in the Otways in December, said she would never put her children at risk.

“Also, as a mother I would never put my children in danger or be around anyone who isn’t loving or gentle with them,” she wrote.

“So much as everyone “concerned” with what’s on the news and in the media right now, As a family we are happy.

Now please stop with the messages.”

Ms Coppedge also called out a number of fake accounts, reporting that she had been sent a series of “rude and nasty messages”.

“If you don’t have the balls to say it on your real accounts don’t message me,” she wrote.

The comments come after the Herald Sun revealed multiple women had contacted the paper and the AFL with allegations against the young star, including one woman who described Thomas’ behaviour as “abusive and manipulative”.

“He said he wanted to beat me, he became abusive and manipulative,” the woman told the Herald Sun.

“It was a Jekyll and Hyde situation. He turned really evil, very quickly.”

Two other women expressed their frustration that their complaints had not been treated seriously.

Late on Wednesday, North Melbourne announced that the 22-year-old would be taking some time off from the game and would be undergoing respectful behaviour training.

“Tarryn Thomas will take time away from the club after the AFL’s integrity unit informed North Melbourne of a new allegation of inappropriate behaviour on Wednesday afternoon,” the statement read.

“As detailed in the club’s statement earlier on Wednesday, the club and Thomas made a commitment to co-operate fully in any investigation if new information was presented.

“In light of this new information, Thomas will remain away from the club while the AFL gathers further information about the allegations.

“In the meantime, Thomas will be expected to meet his obligations around his respectful behaviour training and education program, as outlined in club correspondence earlier today.”
