Melbourne took centre stage as the WWE Super Show-Down was beamed to 180 countries and on pay-per-view.
The home of football was transformed into a wrestling wonderland, with a ring placed in the middle of the ground with chants, songs and roars flooding the air from around the stadium as one of the world’s biggest spectacles hit town, pumping more than $22.3 million into the state economy.
Fan favourite Rousey made her Melbourne ring return after a shock second-round UFC knockout loss to underdog Holly Holm in 2015.
Some young fans were just tots being pushed in their strollers.
Young wrestling fanatic Michael, 12, said he never thought he’d see The Undertaker in the ring live.
“This is like my best day ever,” he said.
Fans have flown from around the world to watch the sporting extravaganza, with tickets sold in New York, Los Angeles, Japan, China and New Zealand.
“There are some things you just don’t miss,” said Reggie Johns who flew from the United States to be here.
Despite merchandise pieces costing up to $700, fans were queuing and buying up big.
Some diehards were so desperate to put their new T-shirts on, they binned the ones they arrived in.
In a “WrestleMania-style’’ venue set-up never before seen in Australia, fans lapped up every fake punch, slap, signature move, sheer acrobatic airtime and over the top storyline during the four-hour sports-entertainment extravaganza in which 10 match-ups hit the ring.
Larger-than-life characters had even bigger entrances into the arena, with a rock-concert style vibe accompanied by lighting and pyrotechnics.
One of the biggest cheers was saved for one of the sports-entertainment empire megastars, John Cena, who thrilled in his tag-team match.
But all eyes were on the main event, with wrestling legends Triple H and The Undertaker fighting for final glory.
It was the last fight the pair would ever have in careers in which they won 21 world championships between them.
