A POSSIBLE spring thunderstorm and rains are expected to batter Melbourne during peak hour today and it could even impact the footy final on tonight.
The stormy conditions are likely to hit between 4pm to 7pm this evening, according to weather bureau senior forecaster Richard Carlyon.

“It’s hard to be precise but there’s likely to be activity from this afternoon across central Victoria including Melbourne.”
Despite the wet conditions on the way it’s expected to hit a balmy 19C.
The thunderstorm is expected to move east but the weather isn’t unexpected for this time of year.
“We’ve got the unsettled spring weather today after some higher temperatures this week but it’s not unusual,” Mr Carlyon said.
Tomorrow it’s expected to be cooler, with a top of 16 and some showers in the morning.
