A social media venture which has worked with some of Australia’s biggest sporting names has gone into liquidation, owing thousands to creditors.
The platform — an app titled 20Four — was designed to provide “exclusive content created by athletes, for fans”.
Documents filed to Australia’s corporate regulator list ex-Carlton star Adrian Gleeson and AFL player agent Anthony McConville as the company’s directors.
“Experience the raw emotion of what life is like as a professional sports star,” the business’s Facebook page says.
“Follow your favourite athlete’s personal journeys between games and in the off-season, directly via the 20FOUR app.”
Videos posted on social media show AFL stars including Joel Selwood, Jack Viney and Adam Treloar have previously created content for the company.
Documents before the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), dated December 21, reveal Roger Grant of Dye & Co has been appointed liquidator of the company.
The papers also show a series of major sports talent agencies — who represent big name stars — are listed as creditors including TLA Worldwide Talent — owed $73,756.14 — SFX Sports Group — owed $25,750 — and Stride Sports Management — owed $40,012.50.
