Shot fired in Doncaster road rage incident, heroic bystanders perform citizen’s arrest on shooter
Heroic bystanders have performed a citizen’s arrest, overpowering a man who fired a gun after being involved in a car crash in Doncaster in Melbourne’s northeast.

A man has fired a gun following a nasty road rage incident in Melbourne’s northeast.
Police were called to a two car collision near the intersection of Williamsons and Manningham roads in Doncaster at about 11am on Monday.
In the wake of the crash, it is alleged one of the drivers, a 32-year-old man, got out of his vehicle and fired a gun.
Heroic bystanders quickly stepped in, overpowering the alleged shooter and performing a citizens arrest, holding him until police arrived.
The man was arrested and is in police custody.
The driver of the second car stayed at the site of the collision and assisted police with their inquiries.
It appears a black ute and a white Volkswagen Golf were involved in the collision.
Police are investigating the incident.
