Sheahan Ink: Collingwood’s Jordan De Goey in surprise split with girlfriend

Collingwood’s Jordan De Goey has split from the girlfriend credited with being his rock during US bar brawl legal drama.

Collingwood bad boy Jordan De Goey is back on the singles scene after a relationship breakdown.

The inked up Magpie is a free man, after splitting from his girlfriend recently, in what club insiders tell Sheahan Ink was an amicable parting of ways.

De Goey’s former squeeze was a rock of support for De Goey during his recent run in with the law in New York.

The recently turned 26-year-old was arrested after a late night scuffle at Chelsea’s exclusive Dream Nightclub which led to an alleged altercation with a female and all parties being ejected from the club.

The woman in question was believed to be stealing drinks from De Goey’s roped off area when a scuffle broke out.

NYPD was alerted and hauled in the AFL star and his tattooed mate Luke Dyson for a few hours.

Given one phone call, De Goey alerted his then girlfriend to the situation, immediately defending himself against the allegations.

She was said to have stood by him throughout the ordeal despite being stuck in Melbourne while De Goey was in the United States.

Despite dating one of the AFLs most talked about stars she also kept a low profile with next to nothing known about her.

De Goey was stood down after the October 30 incident by Collingwood but has now returned to the field, albeit after this week’s bout of gastro, and is the central figure in free agency contract talks.

AFL stars in a sweat over Heat

A number of former AFL stars may be feeling a little jittery over the tell all book being penned on Heat nightclub.

Herald Sun reporter Nui Te Koha revealed in the Page 13 column former nightclub king’s Glen Coburn and Glen Watterson are collaborating on the must read.

It’s already been revealed a blonde bombshell from the TV world and an Essendon premiership player were the two high profile identities caught out in a loving embrace in a dark Crown stairwell.

“Lloyd was furious,” Coburn says in the book. “He told us the entire ‘sordid episode’ was on videotape. Of course, this story was immediately relayed to the actor and the footballer,” the Herald Sun revealed.

‘The actor, who had a breakdown at the thought of the footage being leaked, left town and went off the scene for quite some time soon after that night.

“She now realises there was never was a tape.

“Lloyd’s rationale: to stop any scandalous, illegal and potentially damaging activity on the rooftop.”

Security cameras were installed a week later, the book claims.

The TV starlet mustered up the courage to get her life back on track and moved states for a sunnier life.

But they aren’t the only footy themed tales from yesteryear to feature prominently in the book.

Sordid tales of shenanigans from inside Melbourne’s hottest nightclubs from back in 1990s and early 2000s will be exposed, as the who’s who of Melbourne will get their names back up in lights. Some for all the wrong reasons.

Heat at Crown, Carousel in Albert Park, Saloon in South Yarra and Chevron club’s will be prominent.

Kerry stoked with Gill

Billionaire TV boss Kerry Stokes has heaped praise on departing AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan.

The Seven Network owner returned to Australia in the past week after a four month sabbatical in the United States, lauding McLachlan for his work over the past eight years running the biggest sporting organisation in the country.

“Gill has been a great contributor to the game and has made lasting improvements, while being a great partner of Seven,” Stokes told Sheahan Ink.

“The CEO role at the AFL or any other big sporting organisation requires a broad range of skills in balancing the aspirations of many stakeholders and Gill exhibited those attributes.

“I wish him the best in his future endeavours.”

McLachlan announced earlier this month that season 2022 would be his last in the chair.

But the outgoing CEO vowed to strike a new broadcast rights deal before his departure, even though the current deal still has two years to run.

The 49-year-old said he felt “relief” and “regret”, declaring it “an emotional day because I spent 20 years of my life” at the AFL.

Coincidentally, Stokes flew back into the country on board his $95 million jet, while McLachlan flew to the US with members of his executive.

Stokes’ Bombardier 7500, the same model reality star and fellow billionaire Kylie Jenner flies, can now fly from America’s west coast to Australia non-stop without having to refuel.
