Sheahan Ink: AFL star’s anti-vax views cost him friendship

An AFL legend and his family have had a dramatic falling out with another footy star’s family because of their views on the Covid jab.

There has been a division between two AFL legends over the vaccine.

Two AFL legends and their families are divided over the Covid vaccination and it’s causing incredible angst.

One family is pro jab while the other football star’s family is believed to be anti-vax.

The parents on one side have informed the other family their children are now no longer allowed to associate with each other unless proof of vaccination is shown.

Now their parents stance has caused the kids, who attend school together, to become estranged.

The silky ball magnet who regularly accumulated massive stats on the field told Sheahan Ink: “It is so tough on the kids and we hate the situation but we’re sticking to our beliefs.”

The other legend thought it best not to speak publicly for fear of pouring fuel on the fire of an already tough situation.

The state of affairs has escalated to the point the unvaccinated parents are considering if they should pull their children out of school for fear of isolation from the rest of the community.

We have decided against identifying either of the Melbourne based legends due to the privacy of the matter and their reluctance to speak publicly, and we respect each of their wishes.

HALL DISHES OUT AN SAS BATTERING

AFL champion Barry Hall is nursing a dislocated rib after a wrestle move went wrong during filming of Seven’s popular SAS series.

Hall went toe-to-toe with former Bachelor hunk Locky Gilbert during one of the tasks with Hall underestimating his own strength, with two chokeholds on Gilbert that had him seeing stars.

The former footy hardman then attempted to throw Gilbert, which resulted in the dislocation of his rib.

A Channel 7 spokesperson confirmed Hall received medical treatment.

The father-of-two is out of quarantine on the NSW north coast and is nursing a sore chest but will be free to experience the joy of seeing wife Lauren give birth to their third child.

Hall’s wife, former Hi5 entertainer Lauren Brant, is set to go into labour any minute.

BOXING LEGEND’S EXPENSIVE TRIP

Three time boxing world champion Jeff Fenech found out the hard way what it costs to travel in the middle of a worldwide pandemic.

Fenech is in California working as a boxing trainer to Brock Jarvis who was victorious over Mexican Alejandro Frias in Fresno, California.

Wanting to come home early, Fenech forked out $18,000 for his first class return trip on Delta Airlines, on top of an $8,000 bill to change his return flight to Australia.

Fenech was informed by authorities he would not be able to re-enter the country for months but luckily a window of opportunity has opened allowing the famous fighter to return to Sydney.

But at a whopping cost.

Fenech is expected to return early November to see his wife and three kids.
