THE future of the Shane Warne Foundation is under a cloud with reports the cricket legend is considering the charity’s future.

Sources close to Warne say he has grown disenchanted after a tumultuous period during which the TSWF came under considerable scrutiny for its donation levels.

But Warne is adamant no decision had been made.

He told the Herald Sun: “The board has not made any decision on the future of the foundation”.

The Herald Sun revealed in November that the cricket legend had appointed an accountant to review the charity’s books over concerns about high expenses.

In late December Shane Warne along with the full board of TSWF, including business and media heavy weights, Andrew Bassat, Eddie McGuire, David Evans, Glenn Robbins and Ann Peacock announced a restructure of the organisation.

The overhaul was aimed at reducing costs and boosting donations by moving away from events-based fundraising.

Warne said he was proud of his foundation which has raised close to $8 million since its inception in 2004.

The spin king said approximately $4.1 million of the $7.8 million raised will go to beneficiaries, representing a distribution rate of about 52 per cent.

The development comes as CEO Emma Coleman departs the children’s charity.

Ms Coleman, who was in the role for six months, ended her employment with TSWF today.

It is understood Ms Coleman had grown frustrated with the rate of change at the foundation and concerned with sponsors reconsidering their support.

Ms Coleman was unavailable for comment.
