Childhood favourite Cookie Monster made an appearance, alongside Abby Cadabby bringing plenty of smiles from fans.

The New York City exhibition which runs at the NGV until October 7 features interactive digital elements, including an activity zone for children to build their own miniature 3D streetscapes.

The exhibition is free and coincides with the world-premiere exhibition MoMA, aiming to teach families about the culture hub known as The Big Apple.
