The smash, involving a truck and two cars, happened near Flemington Rd about 6.40am.

Lanes were closed and commuters were held up as emergency services attended.

VicRoads spokesman Brad Arnoldt said traffic was slow going and he said drivers may save time taking Bulla Rd or Mt Alexander Rd.

Another crash causing traffic headaches is at the Princes Fwy inbound in Laverton.

The smash, involving a motorcycle, happened about 6.10am and traffic is heavy, with delays back to Sneydes Rd.
