Senior-ranking prison supervisor suspended over porn scandal
A senior-ranking supervisor is the latest Corrections Victoria employee to be investigated over misconduct, with the staff member accused of sending a “dick pic” and links to pornographic videos from his work-issued mobile and email address.

A prison intelligence supervisor has been suspended amid a pornography scandal.
Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit supervisor Andrew Gray was stood down by the department this month pending a wide-ranging misconduct investigation.
Some of the allegations include him sending a ‘dick pic’ and links to pornographic videos from his work-issued mobile and email address.
The pornographic files, seen by the Herald Sun, are too graphic to publish but include links to X-rated porn websites and a photo taken in a bed.
The Department of Justice and Community Safety said it began investigating the senior-ranking supervisor when it was alerted to the “inappropriate content” earlier this month.
“The staff member has been suspended pending the outcome of an investigation,” a department spokeswoman said.
Gray has worked across the Victorian prison system, including as an acting operations manager at Bendigo Prison.
It is the second major scandal to rock the prison intelligence division in recent months.
Last December the Herald Sun revealed another intelligence supervisor – Anthony Vella – was being investigated over claims he inappropriately accessed an intelligence database so he could contact female trainees to ask them on dates.
Mr Vella was in a position of power and had been involved in training the female recruits.
An internal investigation into the allegations was recently completed and Mr Vella was rostered to return to Melbourne Assessment Prison, where the complaints originated.
However a petition against his return was widely circulated among prison staff and he was subsequently shifted to the Metropolitan Remand Centre.
Mr Vella is being trained as a supervisor at the maximum-security prison, however it is understood the training is not a promotion and is location specific.
Asked about the Vella investigation, a spokeswoman said he had been disciplined and his behaviour supervised in his new role.
“Disciplinary action has been taken against a staff member following a thorough investigation,” she said.
