Scott Morrison returns to Australia to deal with bushfire crisis
Scott Morrison has landed at Sydney Airport after cutting his family holiday in Hawaii short amid ongoing criticism about the timing of his trip.

Scott Morrison landed at Sydney Airport on Saturday night after cutting short his family holiday in Hawaii.
The Herald Sun understands the Prime Minister secured the last seat on a plane leaving Honolulu at lunchtime on Friday — 9am Sydney time.
The Hawaiian Airlines flight touched down just before 8pm.
It came a day after Mr Morrison said he “regrets” any offence to bushfire victims.
A few hours before his flight, Mr Morrison and wife Jenny were spotted in the lift of a luxury hotel in Waikiki.
The Herald Sun spoke to two Australians who were staying at the same hotel and saw the Morrisons yesterday.
“He was wearing shorts and a hat and looking very relaxed,” one man said.
The Herald Sun has chosen not to name the hotel for security reasons.
On his final night in Hawaii, Mr Morrison and wife Jenny were photographed at a bar watching the sunset on Waikiki beach.
Mr Morrison will be briefed on the bushfires at Sydney’s RFS headquarters today before visiting the fire zone and evacuation centres with Premier Gladys Berejiklian.

In his final press conference as acting Prime Minister, Michael McCormack defended Mr Morrison, saying he had received updatesvia phone, text message and WhatsApp while on his family holiday. He said it was a “good thing” Mr Morrison was cutting his holiday short to returning to Australia, given the conditions.
“No one could have envisaged what has transpired this week … everyone is entitled to a holiday,” he said.
