Dozens of schools, early childhood centres and TAFEs will be closed on Tuesday as firefighters continue to battle out-of-control blazes in Victoria’s east.

More than 40 schools and more than 35 early childhood centres will be shut as at least nine properties have been lost in Gippsland.

MONDAY CLOSURES

Dozens of schools and early childhood centres were shut on Monday as firefighters battled out-of-control blazes in Victoria’s east.

A total of 38 schools, 27 early childhood centres and numerous bus routes will be shut following a horror weekend, with the fires destroying nine structures at Bunyip and Yinnar South.

The Department of Education has also advised that Federation Training’s Warragul, Yallourn, Morwell and Traralgon campuses will shut today.
