SCHOOL crossings across Victoria will be made safer under a $23.9 million State Government package.
The funding will include improvements to the road as well as a much-needed boost to Victoria’s School Crossing Supervisor Program.
Projects have been announced at Skye Primary School in Carrum, Bass Valley Primary School, Kallista Primary School, St Mary’s Primary School in Lancefield and Christ Our Holy Redeemer Primary School in Oakleigh, with more to come.

Overhauled crossings will include road improvements as well as electronic variable speed limit signs.
Premier Daniel Andrews attended Skye Primary School on the first day back from holidays to announce the funding in the upcoming 2018/19 Budget.
“Like many other parents, I feel better sending my kids off to school knowing there is a crossing supervisor looking out for them — rain, hail or shine,’’ he said.
“That’s why investments like these are so important.”
“These are small improvements, but they will make a big difference for our school communities.”
Minister for Education James Merlino said the move would help keep Victorian children safe.
“School crossings and speed zones make a massive difference — that’s why we’re investing in this program to make sure that every child, parent and teacher is safe when travelling to and from school.”
