After tirelessly supporting our community for 150 years, the Royal Children’s Hospital took time out yesterday to celebrate.
Governor of Victoria Linda Dessau joined the hospital’s community for a garden party at Government House, complete with live music and a petting zoo.
Alongside them were RCH patients such as Akeira, 11.
Born premature, Akeira was diagnosed with a rare congenital condition that has led to hearing loss in both ears, issues with her speech and only one kidney.
After years of visits to the RCH, her mother Felisia said her family has been touched by every part of the hospital, and are “so grateful for their familiar faces”.
