Two new fan zones will be unveiled at next year’s Melbourne Grand Prix, as interest in the high speed Albert Park event continues to surge.
A new two-storey premium area will be built at pit exit, providing unprecedented views of the main straight and pit lane.
The “Red Bull Energy Station’’ will replace popular Torque Bar, providing a Melbourne Cup “Birdcage” style experience with premium food, drinks, live entertainment and DJs.
A new “T8” spectator area will also be built for the first time on turn eight, offering never before seen vantage points of a high speed zone with Melbourne’s city skyline and Albert Park Lake as a backdrop.
With unprecedented public interest in Australia’s F1 showpiece, there will be 22 hospitality suites at the event.
General admission ticket sales for race day and qualifying Saturday have already sold out. Tickets to the “Energy Station” will go on sale Thursday but they won’t come cheap.
A Friday pass will set fans back $1475, a ticket to race Sunday $3925 and a three-day pass $5595.
T8 tickets start at $1050.
Australian Grand Prix Corporation sales and commercial general manager Darian Misko said the two new fan zones would take the spectator experience to a new level.
“We cannot wait to see the Red Bull Energy Station come to life at next year’s event,’’ he said.
“It will offer an incredibly unique F1 experience.’’
Tickets to the premium new area will go on sale Thursday.
Next year’s event will be staged from March 30 til April 2.
