Queen’s Birthday Honours: Paula Fox an AO for support of medicine, arts and youth

MARRIED to one of Australia’s richest men, Paula Fox isn’t one to take a back seat to her husband Lindsay’s many notable achievements.

MARRIED to one of Australia’s richest men, Paula Fox isn’t one to take a back seat to her husband Lindsay’s many notable achievements.

As wife to the founder and chairman of the family-owned trucking and logistics company Linfox, Mrs Fox, who lives in Melbourne, has been busy behind the scenes with a number of charitable causes close to her heart.

Mrs Fox has been appointed an Officer to the Order of Australia (AO) for distinguished service to the community through philanthropic contributions to, and committed fundraising support and advocacy for, a range of arts, cultural, youth, research and social welfare organisations.

She described the award as a “wonderful honour”.

“I’ve focused much of my passion and energy over the years to help improve outcomes for kids and families, such as supporting housing and accommodation projects and further encouraging the critical work in medical research. It is important through this award that these causes can be recognised,” Mrs Fox said.

“It is a wonderful honour to be acknowledged for pursuing something that is close to my heart and for being able to make a contribution in this way to our great country.”

She is a trustee of the Fox Family Foundation and remains an active supporter and advocate for Sacred Heart Mission in St Kilda.

Mrs Fox, 76, is also life governor of Very Special Kids. She has also had a seat on the National Gallery of Victoria Foundation Board since 2004.
