Queen Victoria Winter Night Markets announce new Winter Wonderland

Live ice sculpting and snow queen entertainers will warm up the Melbourne crowds as the mercury drops at the Queen Victoria Winter Night Market over the school holidays.

Live ice sculpting and snow queen entertainers will warm Melburnians up as at mercury drops at the Queen Victoria Winter Night Market over the school holidays.

For five weeks the markets will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland, where visitors can step inside a giant snow globe for a family photos, while roaming performers and a silent disco bring a fun atmosphere for kids and parents.

“The Winter Night Market is already one of the city’s most-loved events, and the Winter Wonderland program adds a whole new layer of atmosphere,” Queen Victoria Market CEO Matt Elliott said.

“It’s the kind of winter experience you can only have in Melbourne.”

13 new food and drink traders will be added to the already 50+ strong offering, with Hungarian chimney cakes, Uruguayan steak sandwiches and Smoky Brazilian barbecue skewers set to bring the heat.

A hidden bar in the Winter Wonderland zone will offer winter mocktails and spiced hot milo for kids, with table reservations returning to secure a spot early to beat the queues.

La Trafila food vendor Francesco Dell’oso said the markets offer visitors a rare chance to experience different cuisines from all over the world in one place.

“The food, the culture that we have here in Melbourne (at the markets) is so multicultural,” Mr Dell’oso said.

The Winter Night Market runs every Wednesday until August 27.
