The cleaning bill for Pro-Palestine vandalism on Labor MPs’ offices has been revealed, with a Victorian Jewish MP copping most of the damage.

Pro-Palestine activists have cost taxpayers more than $115,000 in repair and clean up bills for their attacks on Labor MPs’ offices, amid the ongoing war in the Middle East.

The Department of Finance figures, obtained under Freedom Of Information laws, reveal that Victorian Jewish MP Josh Burns, who represents Macnamara, copped the worst of it, with clean up costs running over $89,000.

Activists smashed windows, lit a fire and painted slogans on the walls of the MP’s St Kilda office in June this year, writing the phase “Zionism is Fascism” across the front windows.

Out of the 11 federal electorate offices that had been attacked across the country, seven of them were in Victoria.

Anthony Albanese’s office copped a $1000 clean up bill, while more than $5000 was spent scrubbing down former Labor leader Bill Shorten’ s electoral office.

The government document noted that the costs don’t include lost rent and service charges for MPs who had to relocate for repairs or aggressive picketers, meaning the total would be even higher.

The figures were recorded between October 7 last year – the date of Hamas’ terrorist attack in southern Israel – and June 30 this year.

Since then Wills MP Peter Khalil’s office has also been vandalised.

Just last week, pro-Palestinian protesters poured an unknown liquid through a hole drilled in the door.

Mr Khalil took to ABC radio to air his disappointment over the act.

“Does anyone really think that pouring noxious substances through a door that threatens staff and makes them unsafe is going to stop the bloodshed in the Middle East?” he said.
