Portsea Pier scuba diving woman flown to The Alfred hospital with the bends

A woman who was scuba diving in Portsea has been flown to hospital with a suspected case of The Bends.

A woman in her 40s has been flown to hospital after suffering decompression sickness, also known as The Bends, while scuba diving.

Emergency services were called to the Portsea Pier, where the patient was assessed, about 10.20am on Sunday.

The woman was flown to The Alfred in a serious but stable condition.

Meanwhile, emergency services were also called to assess a man in his 30s after an incident at a motocross track near Ballarat.

The man was attempting a jump when the incident happened.

He suffered a shoulder injury and was taken to Ballarat Base Hospital in a stable condition.
