THESE falcons have the perfect bird’s-eye view of Melbourne after setting up their nest yet again at the top of a skyscraper in the CBD.
The peregrines welcomed their two chicks into the world 33 floors up at 367 Collins St on Wednesday.
A camera streamed the hatching to eagle-eyed viewers and continues to film the new family’s movements.
It has been a popular nesting spot since a Birds Australia volunteer started a breeding program on top of the old building in 1991.
Birdlife Australia spokesman Sean Dooley said they were the only pair in Melbourne who nested in the CBD. “One if the reasons they are in the city is there is plenty of tucker for them, as they like to feed on pigeons,” Mr Dooley said.
