Coming to screens all over the world, Phillip Island’s much loved Penguin Parade will be live streamed every night from Tuesday.
In a world first, Live Penguin TV will allow people from all over the globe to watch the famous parade from the comfort of their own living room.
Due to current travel restrictions, up to 3000 of these little babies have been starved of action but now can be watched on your very own phone, tablet and computer or even streamed on TV.
It is believed it may be the first ever nightly live stream of a natural wildlife event at a regular time, with expert commentary.
The launch of Live Penguin TV has coincided with the annual breeding season as more of these cute, fluffy penguin chicks will start to fill the dunes.
Phillip Island Nature Parks Chief Executive Catherine Basterfield said the penguins have been missing the thousands of tourists who flock to the popular parade.
“The Little Penguins have missed having the crowds watching them every night, so I’m sure they will put on a good show for the cameras,” Ms Basterfield said.
Environment Minister Lily D’Ambrosio has welcomed the live streaming and described it as “fantastic”.
“I have no doubt the live streaming will delight those who’ve never seen these little penguins in action and encourage even more people to visit Australia’s most popular wildlife attraction when it’s safe to do so,” Ms D’Ambrosio said.
