A man aged in his 20s has been flown to hospital with life-threatening upper body injuries after a car hit a tree on the Mornington Peninsula.

A man has been flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a car hit a tree on the Mornington Peninsula last night.
The man, a passenger aged in his 20s, suffered serious upper body injuries when the car struck a tree just before 8pm in Hastings.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said the man was flown to The Alfred hospital in a serious but stable condition.
She said the driver of the car, a woman also aged in her 20s, was taken to Frankston Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are probing the cause of the crash which occurred along Hendersons Rd near the intersection with Tuerong Place.
