WORD around the traps is a somewhat unlikely pairing of Real Housewives of Melbourne newbie SUSIE MCLEAN and MICK MOLLOY is heating up faster than a hot breakfast.
Normally we’re a RHOM-free zone, but Page 13 couldn’t resist.
Single mum-of-two McLean, who joined RHOM in season three, grew up in country Victoria and had a five-month marriage to former St Kilda Football Club president ROD BUTTERSS, so falling for a football-mad Aussie larrikin such as Mick may not be as surprising as you think.
In perhaps a less surprising match, WAYNE CAREY and SOPHIE MONK are rumoured to be making whoopee.
NO WOLF IN THE FOREST
LAST year, the property-developing Gandel family had HUGH JACKMAN at the lavish nuptials of granddaughter JACQUI BERMAN and MARK LIBERMAN.
While it looks like Wolverine won’t be at tomorrow’s wedding of another of JOHN GANDEL’s grandchildren, never fear, the combined wealth of the room will be enough to finance a small — or even a quite large — country.
The Chadstone king’s 28-year-old grandson, ADAM GANDEL, will marry girlfriend of five years, AMIRA JACOBSON at a no-expense-spared wedding at the Royal Melbourne Showgrounds. A forest, yes, a forest, is currently being erected to cater to the 450-odd guests.
THE FINAL GIG FITZ
IT’S a far cry from former AFL chairman ANDREW DEMETRIOU’s flashy farewell party at Myer’s Mural Hall, where Veuve Clicquot flowed freely. MIKE FITZPATRICK has never sought the public limelight like Demetriou.
Fitz will hold a smaller send off on Wednesday night after 10 years as chairman. But it will be hair of the dog for the “Silver Fox” who will on Thursday preside over his last AGM at the MCG, before the official AFL season launch at Docklands.
HE’S GONE SKIING
FORMER Essendon head PAUL LITTLE is no doubt happy to have been out of the country with the Dons supplements saga again rearing its ugly head.
Meanwhile, the last piece of Survivor: Boards Apart has been completed after the merge of Tourism Victoria and Victorian Major Events Company. One body, one voice, one tribe Visit Victoria has Little as its new chair. He replaced Sir ROD EDDINGTON earlier this month, but instead of Victoria, is on a boys’ trip dubbed Visit Aspen.
