Page 13: Brendan Fevola and Jo Beth Taylor have plenty of history

THINK I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’s worst-kept secret was Shane Warne’s appearance? Think again. There’s plenty of juicy history between two other contestants.

Shane Warne and Brendan Fevola get covered in bugs

THE worst-kept secret in the jungle wasn’t $3 million man Shane Warne entering I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!

It’s a far juicier tucker trial.

Despite their shaky efforts to look like they were meeting for the first time during the premiere of Ten’s reality adventure series last Sunday night, there is plenty of history between contestants Jo Beth Taylor and Brendan Fevola.

It’s a well-known saucy secret among industry insiders, but backroom deals have kept the story from being made public, until now.

The Sunshine Coast-based former Funniest Home Video host struck up a, er, friendship with Fevola as he was making his mark in Queensland playing for the Brisbane Lions. Presumably when Fev and Alex were enjoying one of their “off” moments.

But the plot thickens.

Rewind to 2011, when Fevola’s on-again off-again wife Alex and none other than Jo Beth were competing for the title of Dancing With the Stars. A détente was reached when Alex rang Jo Beth before filming began.

But this was all broken at a cast after-party at the Seasons hotel in St Kilda Rd when Jo Beth was asked by the highly spirited group who her “worst root” was.

Without hesitation she replied … well, you get the picture.

Tears and tantrums followed and a bitter feud thus erupted. But until now the catfight never got out of the bag.

Brendan must be in a quandary. His entering the jungle was meant to be his redemption, a la Barry Hall. And so far it’s worked, with the loveable ex-AFL rogue warming public hearts as he opens up about rehabilitation and offering to do poo duty throughout his stay.

No doubt magazine deals of his reuniting with Alex were to follow his jungle stint, with the former bad boy not terribly good at keeping secret the couple are back together.

This was highlighted when ol’ mate Warnie queried the cast as to who else was single? Gravel-voiced 72-year-old Val Lehman was the only one to put up her hand.

WARNE DENIES TEXT CLAIMS

SPEAKING of Warnie, who knew he was such an innocent? But you’ve got to give credit to the spin king, well, for being the master of spin.

No stranger to headlines about his sexual escapades, Tinder ventures and bedroom trysts, Page 13 was amused he took exception to accusations he bombarded British model Rhian Sugden with unwanted texts.

“A lot of that stuff was a long time ago,” Warne said of Sugden, who is engaged to Coronation Street star Oliver Mellor.

“The recent reports that I was texting someone’s fiance was just absolute rubbish.

“Sorry, there was some direct messages on Twitter, and how would I actually message her mobile number if I was hassling her.

“There might have been,
both people gave their number, so if I was the fiance I would probably run.”

CLOKE’S BEC HIGH ON LOVE

A RECENTLY published nude pic didn’t dampen spirits at Travis Cloke’s engagement party on Sunday.

For the record, Page 13 was none-too-impressed by the girls who received explicit images of Collingwood players punting them out for a price.

However, a suggestion to footy players sending wannabe WAGs photos of their manhood: maybe a good idea to crop your head out.

But it was Cloke’s fiancee Rebeccah Panozza holding her head high after the Brighton shindig, gushing online about her man: “Love of my life. Not even the rain could dampen my mood last night as you just seem to have a way of making everything OK.

“I love you #Beccylovestravis.”

MISSY ON THE MOVE

ONE would never advise moving stumps with a baby on your hands.

But our favourite Aussie songbird Missy Higgins and fiance Dan Lee, who gave birth to son Samuel Arrow Lee last year, are selling up their Abbotsford New York-style three-bedder.

Expressions of interest for the funky Mollison St warehouse conversion will close via Kay & Burton on February 29 — yes, it’s a leap year.

The home is being quoted in excess of $2 million.

OUR favourite helmetless blue bike-riding Terminator will be back in Melbourne next month.

Arnold Schwarzenegger will host a lunch on March 18, with gym junkie Tony Doherty offering his tips to success before he fronts the Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic on grand prix weekend.

He will no doubt attend the revhead race, but let’s hope he doesn’t get cross again.

It was almost end of days for Lewis Hamilton up on the winner’s podium with the former Mr Olympia last year when he remarked “I thought you’d be taller.”

THE LIFE OF RILEY

THE Australian Labor Party had an attack of Fridayitis yesterday when Federal campaign director George Wright sent out his usual email missive, but accidentally called his tens of thousands of subscribers Riley.

Wright backed it up shortly afterwards with an apology, writing: “Don’t worry, I know your name isn’t Riley.’’ Well that’s a relief.

Undeterred, he still put in a plug for Riley, or whoever, to send some cash to the Labor Party to help them promote their school funding policy.

He signed off: “George (not Riley) National Campaign Director.’’
