Melbourne spectators will have access to never-seen before track views and new venues. See the exclusive plans and pricing here.

A glass panelled marquee with a private garden overlooking pit lane will be among a series of new spectator areas unveiled at next year’s Melbourne Grand Prix.

“The Atrium’’ near the start and finish line at the Albert Park circuit will be one of an unprecedented 20 hospitality areas bringing fans closer than ever to the Formula One action.

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation will on Thursday announce eight new prime areas to watch the race, including the premium Atrium with cathedral roof, deck and garden metres from Walker Straight.

A new “City Summit’’ marquee will put fans in pole position of a new high speed turn zone at the reconfigured circuit for the first time.

A “Garden Deck” between turns two and three will boast never before seen views of the track.

And Aussie F1 ace Daniel Ricciardo will have a suite named in his honour, with elevated views of the action.

Grand Prix chief executive Andrew Westacott said the new attractions would help make the event a celebration of Victoria’s culture, food and music as well as racing.

“There is an incredible sense of excitement surrounding the return of the Formula One Australian Grand Prix and we cannot wait to bring the world’s greatest motorsport spectacle back to Albert Park,’’ he said.

“We’ll have more hospitality experiences than ever before, allowing fans new and exciting ways to customise their ultimate race weekend.’’

The Paddock Club – the Grand Prix’s answer to Flemington’s Birdcage – will return as F1 speed machines hit the track in Melbourne for the first time since 2019.

And a revamped “Race Cube” with rooftop bar will be popular among racing enthusiasts keen to see a new overtaking zone at a reconfigured turn 11 of the track.

General admission tickets to April’s Grand Prix – to go on sale on Tuesday — will cost $36 for opening day and $101 for Sunday’s race.

Prices for a fully catered ticket to the Atrium will start at $725.

The Herald Sun last week revealed five new zones – Great Ocean Rd, Melbourne city, Grampians, Yarra Valley and Phillip Island – would operate at next year’s event to promote Victoria to the world.

Mr Westacott said the new spectator viewing areas were a further step to keep Melbourne’s F1 event world class.

“From the redesigned circuit to the latest 2022 Formula One cars, next year’s event will be chock-full of brand-new experiences that will surprise and delight everyone who’s looking to have a sensational international Grand Prix experience,’’ he said.

“There’s nothing like it.”

Other new spectator areas to be released include “Carousel”, overlooking Albert Park Lake and the city skyline and “The Terrace” above the entry to pit lane.
