MORE than 100 mourners have arrived at the site of a fiery car crash that killed two teenagers on Wednesday morning.

Cars started arriving at the site, under the EJ Whitten Bridge in Keilor East, about 8pm.

Police are also on scene as the mourners commemorate Ivana Clonaridis, 18, and Harley Churchill, 19, who were killed when their blue Holden ute crashed through a barrier off the bridge and burst into flames in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A friend of Ms Clonaridis said he and his girlfriend could not believe the tragedy.

“It’s the first time we’ve visited the scene. My girlfriend is really shaken up,” he said.

The two teenagers were believed to have been leaving an illegal hoon party in Campbellfield prior to the crash.

Police believe a silver Ford sedan had baited drivers along the Western Ring Road before engaging in a race with Mr Churchill, who was driving his blue ute.

It’s believed Mr Churchill’s ute reached speeds of 160km/h on the highway before he lost control about 1.30am.
