More details about Mr Barber’s alleged bullying have emerged, months after it was revealed he and parliamentary services reached a $56,000 settlement with a former staff member.

The ABC on Tuesday revealed the identity of the woman at the centre of the settlement, former parliamentary adviser Liz Ingham.

Ms Ingham’s husband, Trevor Coon, told the ABC that Mr Barber allegedly referred to women as “fat, hairy lesbians”, “power pussies” and “hairy-legged feminists”.

Mr Coon also alleged that Mr Barber had a “men’s room” in his office, which women could only enter if invited.

Greens sources disputed most of the allegations, including that Mr Barber had shut Ms Ingham out of meetings.

The sources told the Herald Sun that Ms Ingham worked as an electorate officer in the lead up to the 2014 election and, due to her role, was not allowed to be involved in campaign discussions.

In April, Mr Barber denied the allegations.

When contacted on Thursday, he said he couldn’t comment because of the confidential settlement.

Current Victorian Greens leader Samantha Ratnam said the party has launched ongoing reviews and took the allegations “very, very seriously”.

“We’re very disappointed when these matters are brought to light,” Ms Ratnam said.

“It’s important to recognise that one of the reasons we’re talking about these issues across the world is that institutions and organisations haven’t done this well.

“We’ve undertaken a number of reviews that are ongoing and we want to improve the way we deal with these matters.”
