The teenage boy who doused GoBoat passengers on the Yarra River with milk has been suspended from one of Melbourne’s most prestigious schools.

The Herald Sun can reveal Melbourne Grammar School handed the prankster a “combination of suspension and other punitive action, reparation, apologies and counselling” after the social media stunt went viral last month.

It comes as the 16-year-old boy was also issued a caution for unlawful assault following an investigation by Victoria Police.

“The matter is now complete,” a police spokesperson said.

Melbourne Grammar principal Philip Grutzner said the school carried out a “thorough investigation”.

“We continue to have the firm view that this behaviour was completely unacceptable and have treated the matter with the utmost seriousness,” he said.

“Although the incident occurred well outside the purview of the school, we have worked with that student and his parents.

“We endeavour to instil an understanding of the importance of respect and care for others in our students every day in which students act responsibly and are accountable for their actions.”

Social media footage began circulating on January 27, showing the teen pouring milk over GoBoat passengers on the river beneath the Southbank footbridge.

One of the GoBoat passengers Veronica Burgess posted a video of the prank online which has since amassed more than 32 million views.

Ms Burgess said at the time the incident “ruined (her) day”.

“Imagine if someone on the boat was allergic to milk? This is beyond dangerous,” she wrote online.

The teen, who went under the username ‘giddynokiddy’ online, posted his own video of the incident on Instagram with the caption “milked” alongside the devil emoji.

He also uploaded other videos where he pours milk and throws eggs on other boat riders and bypassers in Melbourne.

He took to TikTok shortly after the stunt went viral, telling his followers he was now facing expulsion from school.

“Please stop contacting my school, my school has caught me and I am facing expulsion. Can’t believe you would do this to (a) minor,” he wrote.

“Why’d you do this to me. You ruin my life over a ruined day, you upped the anti, I’m just a kid and you ruined my life. Too far,” he wrote.

He has since deleted his videos.
