Merri the koala has the ‘cushiest job’ at Healesville Sanctuary

SHE’S only 16 months old, but in koala years that means time to move into your own pad.

Merri has been moved to Healesville Sanctuary’s new Koala Forest exhibit.

The exhibit features a boardwalk that weaves around treetops, providing a close view of the carefree climbers.

“You can learn why they prefer to dine on some gum leaves over others,” a Healesville Sanctuary spokeswoman said.

“The cushiest job, sitting on their bums all day, snoozing for up to 19 hours: this is the high life.”
