THE new members’ stand at Flemington is rising on schedule, with steel and concrete poured to level three of the five-storey state-of-the-art building.
Construction started immediately after last year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival and is on track to be delivered in time for the 2018 carnival.
VRC chairman Amanda Elliott said the club had renovated and built several alternative areas for members attending the carnival this year, which kicks off on Saturday with Derby Day.
“The VRC operations team has begun to take back part of the build site for this year’s carnival,” she said.
There will be the same number of reserved seats for members as previous years across The Grandstand (The Atrium and The View), and new for this year, the Lawn Stand. Unreserved seats for members are also available in the Hill and Lawn Stands for this year only.
And The View has unreserved seats for members as per previous years.
