MELBURNIANS have woken to the “perfect summer’s day” and it’s only going to get better, according the weather bureau.
Sunny skies and settled conditions will see Melbourne reach a warm 25 degrees, with only a light sea breeze expected for the afternoon.

Outside Melbourne, temperatures are set to rise, with Yarra Glen expected to reach 28 degrees today.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Michael Efron said the ideal conditions would last the entire weekend.
“Tomorrow will be much the same with sunny skies and reaching 27 degrees by the later afternoon,” Mr Efron said.
“There’s no rain expected in Melbourne until next week … it’s the perfect summer’s day today,” he said.
Melburnians can expect cool evenings over the weekend — but don’t pack away the fans just yet.
On Monday and Tuesday, the mercury is set to rise to 33 degrees, with hot and sweaty evenings offering little relief.
Showers will develop Tuesday afternoon with a chance of thunderstorms in the evening before a mild stretch for the rest of the week.
