Melbourne wakes to second morning of frost
Another freezing start to the day has greeted Melburnians, while one place recorded a plummeting low of -6C overnight.

Melbourne’s chilly conditions have continued into Thursday, with the mercury falling to just 1.6C this morning.
It comes after the city recorded its coldest morning in close to four years on Wednesday — a minimum temperature of 0.8C.
The last time the mercury fell close to zero in Melbourne was in late August 2018 when the CBD recorded an overnight low of 0.8C.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued a frost warning for Victorians across the state on Thursday.
“A frost warning has been issued for Thursday morning for all districts of Victoria except the Mallee, with the minimum reaching -1C in parts,” they said.
The Bureau warned of “severe frost” across central and northeastern districts.
Coldstream in the Yarra Valley was the coldest area in Melbourne this morning with temperatures dropping to -3.7C at 7.10am.
Avalon fell to -1.8C while Viewbank and Cerberus both recorded overnight lows of -1.5C.
Mount Hotham was the coldest place in Victoria overnight with temperatures plummeting to just -6C.
While the state woke to icy conditions and frosts, the mercury is set to climb to 15C across the city on Thursday.
Melbourne will see an overnight low of 6C on Friday with sunny conditions and a maximum temperature of 17C.
Cloudy conditions are forecast for the weekend with daily temperatures reaching 16C and 18C on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
The cold snap will begin to ease as the mercury is tipped to rise to 15C on Thursday, while Friday will post a minimum temperature of 5C and a maximum of 17C.
