It’s possible that a single shred of coloured paper has never been so sought after.
Pop megastar Taylor Swift has farewelled the MCG and jetted off to Sydney, but her Melbourne Swifties are still in an Eras Tour frenzy, scrambling to secure any form of memorabilia they can from the sold-out shows.
Everything Eras Tour is in fans’ sights – even the individual, palm-sized pieces of confetti released during the performance.
Swiftie and tour-goer Mansi Nand, 22, has her eyes set on the red leaf-shaped confetti that fell during Swift’s 10-minute performance of hit song All Too Well.
Only fans with A, B and C reserve tickets on the ground floor of the MCG were able to grab the paper pieces.
“This is a very big ask I know but if anyone knows of anyone that got red leaves confetti, I’m willing to pay money for it,” Ms Nand said on Facebook group Melbourne Swifties.
“It would mean the absolute world.”
Ms Nand told the Herald Sun she’d pay up to $30 for the “rare” confetti and $5 for a single piece.
“It’s just a little keepsake memory that I can remember such an amazing artist and everything she has done for fans with not only Eras Tour but also all tours,” she said.
“I have unfortunately not been successful in finding confetti just yet but we still have Sydney shows to go so fingers crossed.”
One fan who collected an entire bag worth of multi-coloured confetti released during the closing set of the tour took to Facebook yesterday to sell the paper at $2 a piece plus $3 shipping.
Numerous fans flocked to the comments to snag a keepsake.
Another fan opted to share her confetti stash for free and made era-themed packages to give away to other Melbourne fans. More than 20 fans claimed the packages within 24 hours.
Since the Melbourne leg of Swift’s Eras Tour concluded on Sunday night, Facebook marketplace has been swarmed with Eras Tour memorabilia, including VIP box packages listed for $250, leftover homemade friendship bracelets, sold-out official merchandise and framed souvenir tickets.
