Despite the sun shining at the Sunday Grand Prix, Victoria was shivering through its coldest start to April since 1998.
Saturday saw temperatures sit around 3C-6C below average for the month, reaching a meagre top of 16.4C.

The city huddled against an all-too-familiar entry to the chillier weather, with rain taking over the first half of the weekend – mercifully easing for the last day of the Grand Prix spectacular.
Melbourne has kicked off the week with a frosty, albeit seasonal, temperature, reaching 8.9C in the city by 7am, 5.4C at Coldstream and 6.6C at Avalon.
Shirking the icy start to the month, however, the weather will surge to 26C tomorrow in classic Melbourne style and maintain a balmy 24C for the remainder of the working week.
The mercury will dip back below 20C for the weekend.
