Landmark CBD strip club Goldfingers is closing for good.

It is expected the nudie bar’s closure will help make way for development on the King and Lonsdale streets intersection site.

The club’s social media site has confirmed the permanent shut-down.

Golfingers, on the Kilkenny Inn site, was opened in 1997 by prominent industry figure Ray Bartlett.

But when Mr Bartlett, known to some as the Lord of the Lapdance, died in 2013, its future became uncertain.

It was reported last year that businessmen Eddie Hirsch and Avi Silver had sold Goldfingers for $50 million.

There had been speculation for years that the site would end up being redeveloped for high-rise apartments.

While it is now closed for good, Goldfingers’ business had been severely affected this year by COVID-19.

The pandemic has cramped the style of much of the strip club industry in 2020.
