Melbourne billionaire Adrian Portelli drops more than $40,000 on his Maccas order

Fans of “Lambo Guy” Adrian Portelli turned out in force at a western suburbs Maccas to see the billionaire drop more than $40,000 on a double cheeseburger meal.

Melbourne billionaire Adrian Portelli has spent more than $40,000 on a double cheeseburger meal at a western suburbs McDonald’s.

Portelli, a prolific buyer of houses on The Block and luxury European cars, the founder of the LMCT+ promotions and discounts business and owner of a $36m penthouse in the Melbourne CBD, was serving behind the counter at McDonald’s in Derrimut in support of McHappy Day on Saturday at 11am.

After his stint selling burgers alongside his business partner Troy Candy, he bought a $12.60 large double cheeseburger meal with fries and a vanilla coke.

With the opportunity to make a donation, he did, adding $40,000 to the bill and bringing his total for the midday snack to $40,012.60.

He paid it on his card via EFT with the receipt recording the enormous transaction at 11.45am.

As for the amount, Candy on his social media explained that the McDonald’s branch was $40,000 short of their projected target so Portelli decided to help them out with the huge and unexpected donation.

Most “helping hands” donations, as they are called, fall in the $2, $10 or $50 range. Portelli’s donation was noted on the receipt as 800 x $50.

It is beyond doubt that Portelli has a huge fan base and many of his younger fans turned up at the western suburban McDonald’s to see the entrepreneur and to clap eyes on his supercar of choice for the day, a McLaren Senna wrapped in the branding of his Flipside Energy drink.

Money raised on McHappy Day goes towards the Ronald McDonald House Charities, which support families with seriously ill children.
