Gun crime has again flared on Melbourne’s streets, with two men shot in separate attacks in as many hours.

A 20-year-old was hit with multiple shots fired from a luxury SUV in the latest incident, which unfolded outside a Reservoir house in Bray St on Saturday at about 1.30am.

There was a shooting in the same street on Tuesday.

Police believe the victim shot yesterday, a Reservoir man who sustained non-life threatening injuries, was targeted. He is known to police.

“It is not a random attack … it is a targeted attack,” Det Sen-Sgt Paul Lloyd said. “Several shots were fired.

“The vehicle left the scene quite quickly.”

Police believe the shooter is known to the victim and emerged from the passenger side of a black SUV, shot a handgun multiple times and fled.

Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Lloyd from Victoria Police Crime Command said the shooting was a targeted attack.

“It is not a random attack,” Sgt Lloyd said. “A number … several shots were fired.

“We are looking for two male offenders, we don’t have any descriptions at the moment.”

A black Porsche SUV was found torched in Mitchell St, Brunswick East about 1.55am.

“The vehicle left the scene quite quickly,” Sgt Lloyd said.

“We are looking into links of a vehicle that was burnt out in Mitchell St in Brunswick East.”

Reservoir resident Lorie, who asked his surname be withheld, told the Sunday Herald Sun he heard several shots then a man screaming.

“Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang —, five shots,” he said.

“He was like: ‘Help, help, help!’ I rang triple-0. It is so close to home.”

Filomena Giarrusso has lived in her neighbouring Bartrop Street home for 10 years.

“One car was running up and down the street around 11.15pm, really fast,” she said.

“Three times up and down.”

Ms Giarrusso said while she did not hear any shots, it was scary hearing the news this morning.

A spate of gun violence has Melbourne residents living in fear once again.

“It is scary, of course, it is concerning,” she said. “You’re not safe in your own house.”

Earlier this week, shots were fired in Bray St on Tuesday at 12.50am. Nobody was injured.

Police could not say if the shootings were linked, and that it was too early to say if the shooting was drug-related.

Police were also investigating a shooting which unfolded in Narre Warren on Saturday morning at about 3am.

A man in Louisa Court sustained a single non-life threatening wound to the back.

There was a stabbing in the same suburb at a house in Blossom Drv on Friday at about 9.40pm.

A man aged in his 40s sustained a wound to his arm and was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

A 54-year-old Craigieburn man was arrested at the scene and has since been released.

The investigations remain ongoing and anyone with information is urged to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
