A man is fighting for life and a young boy was injured after being hit by a car outside a shopping centre in Glen Waverley this morning.

A man and a young child have been struck by a car outside The Glen Shopping Centre.
The man is fighting for his life with head injuries and has been rushed to The Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.
The young boy is in a stable condition and is being taken to the Monash Medical Centre with non-life threatening arm injuries.
Police and ambulance officers were called to the scene near the intersection of Springvale Rd and O’Sullivan Rd at about 6.50am this morning.
Paramedics and police are also addressing the female driver of the vehicle, who stopped at the scene.
The driver and her female passenger were not injured.
Delays are now easing after earlier traffic snarls caused by the closure of Springvale Rd to northbound traffic, with vehicles being diverted at Waverley Rd.
VicRoads recommended motorists to use Blackburn Rd or Stephensons Rd instead.

Police will investigate the cause of the crash and Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives will attend the scene.
