Three people have been arrested — and one charged with murder — after a suspicious Carlton death one month ago.
A police spokesman said officers were called to a Drummond St apartment on January 17, where they found a local 42-year-old man with “life-threatening injuries”.
The man died in hospital and Homicide Squad detective charged a 23-year-old Port Melbourne man with murder on Friday.
The man was extradited from Queensland — where police say he was arrested five days after the Carlton incident on an unrelated matter — and will face Melbourne Magistrates Court on Saturday.
A police spokesmen said two teenage boys — a 14 and 15-year-old — were arrested “as part of the investigation” last month.
The youngest boy was charged with intentionally causing injury, recklessly causing injury, affray, unlawful assault and using a prohibited weapon.
The 15-year-old was charged with affray, unlawful assault and theft, and both were granted bail.
