A YOUNG man has jumped into the Yarra River in Melbourne’s CBD to save the life of a woman last night.

A YOUNG man has jumped into the Yarra River in Melbourne’s CBD to save the life of a woman last night.

The woman, 18, jumped from the King St Bridge, Southbank, into the water about 8.30pm.

A 21-year-old man saw her leap into the water and jumped in to save her.

She was taken to hospital for assessment and the man was uninjured.

Police and emergency services attended the incident.
