Windows were smashed, plastering ripped from doors and walls and items were stolen from the luxury property.
“The damage inside the house is incredible. The house is a write-off. There is not a room or a place in the house that isn’t destroyed including the garage,” a resident told Seven News.
“You can’t blame the police. They didn’t have a chance in the world.”
AIRBNB HOMES YOU WISH YOU COULD AFFORD
Police said the four-bedroom home had been rented for a few nights and the property manager visited the property on Sunday to find the home in shambles.
The property was able to be rented through online platforms including Airbnb and booking.com, but Airbnb said the property was not rented by them on this occasion.
Booking.com has been contacted for comment.
Another resident told Seven News it was “absolutely senseless and useless vandalism” which spilt out onto the street.
He said the police were called to the property about three times.
Detective Senior Constable David Baskin warned owners to check out who was renting their property.
