Leading Senior Constable Dennis Cox dies after car crashes into his bicycle
Tributes are flowing for Leading Senior Constable Dennis Cox after he was killed when a car crashed into his bike in the Victoria’s northwest.

A police officer has been killed in a horror crash in Victoria’s northwest.
Leading Senior Constable Dennis Cox, 42, was riding his bike when a car collided into him on Sea Lake-Lascelles Road near Stacey Road in Sea Lake about 8am on Thursday.
Sadly he died at the scene.
The driver stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their investigation.
Tributes are flowing for Sen Con Cox, who served at Sea Lake police station - a one officer station.
“RIP Coxy,” a friend wrote on Facebook.
Victoria Police also paid tribute to the fallen officer, saying he was an integral part of his rural community for the past eight years.
“Leading Senior Constable Dennis Cox was a well-respected and admired member of the Sea Lake community working at the community’s one-person station,” they said in a statement. “Victoria Police extends its deepest sympathy and condolences to Dennis’ immediate and extended family and friends.”
Sen Con Cox had a 12-year career with the force and had spent time working in Swan Hill.
He was raised on the family farm near Sea Lake and did all his schooling in town.
Sen Con Cox had close ties with the community and served as president of Sea Lake Nandaly Football Netball Club.
He enjoyed going for bike rides each morning before work and was involved in the local footy club.
Sen Con Cox was off-duty at the time of the collision.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have spent the day at the scene, located 350km northwest of Melbourne.
They ask anyone with information or dash-cam footage of the collision to come forward.
Sen Con Cox is the 188th person to die on the roads this year.
His death comes almost seven months after the tragic Eastern Freeway crash that claimed the lives of Constable Glen Humphris, Senior Constable Kevin King, Leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor and Constable Joshua Prestney.
