Lambo Guy Adrian Portelli has shrugged off allegations his business LMCT+ illegally operated in South Australia, saying he will “round up” his fine to $200,000 if found guilty.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, the 35-year-old hit back at the state’s consumer and business watchdog after it was revealed he could face a maximum penalty of $190,000 if convicted of all 19 charges relating to assisting/conducting an unlawful lottery.

Company director Portelli faces nine charges while his business Xclusive Tech Pty Ltd – which operates as the lucrative LMCT+ giveaways – was slapped with ten similar counts.

But a defiant Portelli, who is worth an estimated $1.29b and openly flaunts his life of luxury online, offered to chip in more cash than he could be ordered by a magistrate to pay.

“South Australia, instead of wasting taxpayer’s money – you’re just burning their money – put it to a good cause, get out there, put it to a good cause and help the community,” Portelli said during the early 8-minute-long clip shared online.

“I’ll round it up to $200,000. Call it even and stop wasting people’s money”.

The Melbourne-based businessman, who hosted a penthouse party at his $39m CBD high-rise as news of the charges broke, told his 434K followers that Xclusive was previously licenced to operate in South Australia for the “first three, four years”.

“They were fine with us, we had a good relationship with South Australia,” the Young Rich Lister told his legion of followers.

“They allowed us to invest millions and millions, and millions of dollars into their state. As a result of them allowing us to operate in the state of South Australia, we have generated a number of members in South Australia...”

Those members made up less than 5 per cent of the LMCT+ database, he added.

LMCT+ operates as a “trade promotion” – a loosely-regulated type of lottery originally designed to allow businesses to attract trade by rewarding customers with prizes – under a license issued in New South Wales.

More than 300,000 customers reportedly subscribe to the online business, which offers memberships ranging from $20 to a $100 a month.

Court documents obtained by the Herald Sun revealed the company is accused of illegally operating in the state from January 29, 2023, until May 16 this year.

It is alleged the business did not hold a licence to conduct lotteries in South Australia, while Portelli – also the face of the hugely successful online business – is accused of assisting those operations by “drawing the lottery”

“Overnight they revoked our license, no change to the legislation, just took our money and said: ‘Tough luck, we’re not giving you a refund this is how it is now,” Portelli continued.

The father of one maintained the trade promotion business, which has amassed a whopping 433K Instagram followers over eight years, was “legitimate”.

“… Let’s just think about this, nobody’s going to allow a business to run illegally for that amount of years if it’s not compliant,” he said.

“We have met with governing bodies, we have met with the gaming commissions, they’ve come out to see us, we have worked with them, they have investigated us they’ve looked into our stuff and they all come back with the same finding: that we are compliant.”

The Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission confirmed to this masthead on Friday that it had not discovered anything untoward during its investigation into Portelli.

Celeb pals including tennis player Nick Kygrios and former deputy mayor candidate Erin Deering took to the post to show support.

“FACTS,” Kyrgios wrote.

Portelli is due to appear in South Australian Magistrates’ Court on January 15.
