King Charles III has met Victorian Governor Linda Dessau at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
The pair were smiling as they posed for a photo together inside a library at the royal family’s estate home overnight Wednesday.
Ms Dessau acts as a representative of the monarch in Victoria and is the state’s first female governor.
She has been in the role since 2015 and was previously a family court judge.
King Charles is nearly a month into his reign following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II in September.
As required by Victoria’s constitution, Ms Dessau proclaimed the demise of the Crown and accession of the new Sovereign following the monarch’s passing.
It is the second time the governor has met with the monarch of the United Kingdom, having met with Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace in 2015.
