Kangaroos are believed to be the animals involved in both cases.
The first victim was a woman attacked in Waterford Park, 62km north of Melbourne, about 9am on Monday.

She was taken to the Northern Hospital with minor injuries to her shoulder and legs.
A second victim was struck down by an animal, thought to be another roo, just before 11am in Grantville, 100km southeast of Melbourne.
Paramedics treated the injured person before they were taken to the Casey Hospital.
Their condition is not yet known.
Melbourne’s dry start to the year has also seen hordes of hungry kangaroos making their way into suburban yards and roadsides.
The city’s outer north has been worst hit, with wildlife rescuers being called out for roos being hit by cars several times a day, including in suburbs such as Doreen and South Morang.
The attacks come just two weeks after a man was killed and another woman critically injured when their pet deer attacked them.
The male deer turned on Mandi McDonald when she rushed to help her husband Paul, who had already been attacked in the enclosure at their home near Wangaratta on April 17.
