Man fighting for life after being stabbed during fight in Moe

A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being stabbed during an altercation at a Moe property.

A man was on Saturday night fighting for his life following an alleged stabbing in Gippsland.

It is understood a man was stabbed following an altercation at a property on John St, Moe, about 6.10pm.

He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A 38-year-old Moe man was arrested soon after on Mitchells Rd.

He is assisting police with their inquiries.

In a statement police said it is believed that the individuals involved are known to each other.

Stolen luxury car ploughs into art gallery

An art gallery owner is heartbroken after six teens in a stolen luxury car ploughed into her Dandenong Ranges business, causing thousands of dollars worth of damage.

Emergency services were called to Kalorama about 3am on Saturday after a stolen Audi lost control on Ridge Rd, driving through a stone barrier and into the front of Kapi Art Space.

On police arrival, the occupants of the car had all fled the scene but a teen girl was quickly arrested nearby.

While police were patrolling the area, a report came through of an attempted car theft on Price Rd.

Police went to the area and noticed a ride share vehicle passing by.

They flagged the driver down and located four teen passengers, three males and one female, who were all taken into custody.

The dog squad rounded up the last male teen.

Kapi Art Space manager and director Heather Bradbury said she was shocked when her landlord called her on Saturday morning.

“I’m sad for the artists but we have an amazing community, they have been all in today, moving the artwork to a safer location,’ she said.

“I really appreciate the SES, the police, fire brigade, they have all been wonderful.”

Ms Bradbury said majority of the building was destroyed with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage done.

She said six artworks by local artists were ruined with the car just missing a painting worth $40,000.

Police said the five teens were interviewed on Saturday while the sixth was taken to hospital with a leg injury after being bitten by a police dog.

Morwell man shot in chest

Meanwhile, police are investigating after a man was dropped off at a hospital in Victoria’s east with a suspected gunshot wound.

The 31-year-old Morwell man travelled to West Gippsland hospital by taxi and was treated for a non-life threatening injury to his chest about 4am on Saturday.

Police have established a crime scene at a motel on Rulemount Rd in Warragul where it’s believed a shooting took place.

It’s understood the man was unable to provide details to police about what occurred and who were involved.
