Jetstar staff restrain woman on flight to Avalon after door incident

AIRLINE staff were forced to restrain a woman in the air above Geelong after she tried to open a door mid-flight en route to Avalon.

JETSTAR staff were forced to restrain a woman in the air above Geelong after she tried to open a door mid-flight en route to Avalon.

Police said the incident occurred at 11pm last night.

“Police were called to Avalon about 11pm after reports a woman attempted to open a door on an inbound flight,” a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.

“Staff restrained the woman.

“She was arrested without incident and taken to hospital for assessment.”

Police are investigating.

A Jetstar spokeswoman said cabin crew intervened when the customer approached the front door of the aircraft.

“The passenger was cooperative as our crew reseated her and the flight landed normally,” they said.

“Our team is highly trained to respond swiftly to a range of scenarios on-board to ensure the safety of our customers as they did in this instance.”
