Enzo’s Pizzeria owner Enzo Cucinotta said his unique invention was a matter of national pride.

“When I saw the Halal Snack Pack I thought, if the Middle Easterners can do it, the Mediterraneans can do it,” he said.

“What’s not to love about chips, bolognaise and mozzarella?”

Mr Cucinotta said first-time customers were hesitant until the first bite.

“Then they’re hooked — we get a lot of repeat customers,” he said.

Less adventurous diners can expect a classic menu that won’t disappoint.

Mr Cucinotta opened his doors in Preston three weeks ago and said he was thrilled with the response.

The former fly-in-fly-out worker said he started the business to spend more time with his wife, Gulsen Sipahi.

“We’re not trying to be millionaires or a franchise, we just want a nice little place on the corner for the community to come,” he said.

Enzo’s Pizzeria is at 205 High St, Preston.
