Bec Judd has continued on her crime crusade after a huge sign was placed near her multimillion-dollar mansion, warning Brighton residents of criminals.
The electronic sign landed on Beach Rd in December after a spate of home invasions and car thefts in the leafy Melbourne suburb.
It’s understood the sign was put in close proximity to Ms Judd’s $7.3m mansion.
The mother-of-four took to social media to call out the soaring crime statistics on Thursday morning.
“Nothing to see in Briiiiiigton (sic). Just a lazy 578 per cent increase in aggravated burglaries,” she said.
Ms Judd was heavily criticised last year for stating crime was rife in the area with Premier Daniel Andrews rubbishing her claims.
The businesswoman said she felt “unsafe” following violent incidents at the hands of thugs around Brighton.
But Ms Judd was proven correct when the Crime Statistics Agency released their data last week showing that Brighton was the most targeted suburb in Bayside.
There were 954 reported criminal incidents in 2022 compared to 803 in 2021.
Hampton, Brighton East, Sandringham and Highett also topped the list.
The total of criminal incidents in Bayside soared by 12.9 per cent with 3767 in 2022 compared to 3338 in 2021.
The most popular offences were motor vehicle thefts, criminal damage, residential non-aggravated burglaries and obtain benefit by deception.
Brighton MP James Newbury told the Herald Sun that criminals will be laughing at the sign that was placed by Bayside Council.
“Daniel Andrews refuses to accept the huge spike spike in vicious crimes on our family homes, or build Brighton a needed police station,” he said.
“Instead we get a flashing sign, that criminals will be laughing at, as they break into our homes.”
